Volunteer This Week & Next (9/20-9/30)
While the hub is not currently distributing items directly to the public, we are still playing a vital role in Houston's relief effort and need your help. We continue to receive large donations that we need to sort and re-distribute to other groups working in relief around the city.
A typical delivery contains a broad mix of over a dozen heavy pallets. Thanks to the generosity of the Sawyer Yards property management, we have an uncommon amount of storage and sorting space and the equipment required to unload, which many smaller volunteer groups and community centers simply don't have. That means the Hub doesn't have to turn away any donations when the need in Houston is so great, and we get to ensure that your donations are distributed equitably to groups who are working throughout the entire region.
In order to continue this work, we need your help.
Volunteer to sort & process donations:
Wednesday 9/20 — 11 AM to 3 PM
Thursday 9/21 — 11 AM to 3 PM
Friday 9/22 — 11 AM to 3 PM
Saturday 9/23 — 11 AM to 3 PM
Wednesday 9/27 — 11 AM to 3 PM
Thursday 9/28 — 11 AM to 3 PM
Friday 9/29 — 11 AM to 3 PM
Saturday 9/30 — 11 AM to 3 PM
Currently, the greatest need we have at the Hub is for sorting donations these donations and getting them to other relief centers. If you are still interested in volunteering outside of sorting donations, here are other opportunities through our partnership with the Harvey Relief Coalition:
- To volunteer with Recovery Houston for mucking or clean-up within Houston, email email@example.com.
- To volunteer with the Cajun Army for mucking or clean-up Northwest, Southeast or East of Houston, click here.
- For transport, research, or phone intake, email firstname.lastname@example.org or submit our volunteer form at harveyreliefhub.com and we'll get you connected with the right person or organization.
