Not only have we kept our momentum...we're building more.
Harvey Relief Hub is now Houston Relief Hub. As of today, we have taken on an official partnership with Mayor Sylvester Turner's office to ensure that we have a strong response to our compatriots in Puerto Rico and others affected by the recent natural disasters for the next few weeks.
So, we will continue to accept any and all donations at our central warehouse at 2500 Summer Street Monday through Sunday 8 AM to 6 PM until further announcement. Our first cargo trip to Puerto Rico will take place at the end of next week. You will have an immediate impact in Houston, PR, and beyond by simply continuing to drop off or mail donations to the Hub or by volunteering with us.
There is a special need for the following items starting now until further notice:
Lanterns (please include batteries)
Flashlights (please include batteries)
Battery-operated, hand-held fans (please include batteries)
Radios (please include batteries)
Canned and dry pet food
Baby and adult pain relief meds
Stomach and diarrhea relief meds
We will continue our partnerships with Baker Ripley (713-667-9400) and other organizations locally to ensure that Houstonians are still getting the help they need, but with this added point of distributions.
Of course, we will also need volunteer help to take on this additional dimension of help, especially early next week as we prepare our first delivery.
